Happy Saturday y'all! Below, I have rounded up some things for you to think about this weekend:

1. Although most of us are in a perpetual state of switching our focus from one task to another, neuroscience has shown time and time again that multitasking is not good for our mental health. We evolved to be mono-taskers, focusing on one thing at a time. The ability to multitask is simply an illusion for the vast majority of people—instead of doing multiple things at the same time, we are instead performing individual actions in rapid succession. And all this multitasking has drastic effects on our overall attentiveness, learning abilities, and mindfulness cultivation. So next time you find yourself thinking about something other than what you're already thinking about, try to stop those extra thoughts and focus on the original ones.

That's all for this week's edition of Weekend Thoughts. Until next week, keep thinking wilder.
